My name is Poppy and I graduated on May 20, 2006 from CCI (Canine Companions for Independence) as a hearing dog for Tracy. I have a wonderful puppyraiser named Sharon who raised me for 15 months and gave me a good home, lots of love and training and taught me to be the best puppy. I was turned into the Southwest region CCI organization to train as a service dog for 6 months, when at that time they realized I would make an excellent hearing dog...I then was sent to Santa Rosa, the Northwest, main CCI headquarters and was trained by two of the most excellent trainers Amy and Stephanie who trained me on hearing sounds in just 3 months! I was then matched up with Tracy for the specific reason that she works with kids and I love kids and am very gentle, loving and mellow (but I do get excited sometimes and love a great belly rub!) I will be writing this blog.. this is my story as a hearing dog.

How very cool to see the pictures of Poppy with both of her Moms! What a lucky dog to be surrounded by so much love. I have been enjoying the writings and I am praying that the school board comes to their senses and allows Poppy to do her job. What an asset she will be to your preschool! This is an awesome story, maybe you should write a book for preschoolers explaining and showing just what Poppy does!
